Dear Families,
Yeah - we’ve made it through the heatwave, kept the school open and kept the learning going. We’ve had praise from the Trust CEO for doing this as there have been some schools that have shut or closed early causing a lot of disruption to families who have to go back to remote learning at home.
Trips
We’ve had two trips this week.
Year 4 went to Chester to enhance their learning about the Romans. They had a great time taking part in the activities, especially when the adults got to ‘attack’ them in a mock battle!
Year 1 went to the Brampton Museum. They had lots of fun learning about the history of toys. Going down into the cellar to find a missing toy seemed to be the highlight of the trip as well as meeting the birds in the aviary.
Whole school assemblies
Over the last couple of weeks, we have focused on safety. We have spoken about water safety linking this to the very sad news of some children drowning by jumping in lakes and their bodies going into cold water shock. We have also spoken about staying safe in the heat. Over the next few weeks, there will be further focus on safety.
Sports events
Next week we have several sporting events:
Monday 29th June at 1:30pm - KS2 sports
Tuesday 30th June at 9:30am - Early Years sports (Nursery & Reception)
Tuesday 30th June at 1:30pm - KS1 sports
Tuesday 30th June - pm - swimming gala

Move up morning
This will happen on Thursday 2nd July for the full morning. Please bring your child to their usual entrance. The children will have their registers taken in their normal class and then they will move to their new class. This year there is no change to the teaching staff so the teachers will be as follows:
Nursery - Mrs Tagg & Miss Goodwin
Reception - Mrs Williams & Mrs Rushton
Year 1 - Mrs Elkin
Year 2 - Mrs Dickens & Mrs Simpson
Year 3 - Miss Graham
Year 4 - Ms Cooper
Year 5 - Mrs Booth (new teacher, will be in school for the move up morning)
Year 6 - Mrs McConvey
The teachers have several meetings booked to talk about their new children, their learning needs as well as any other information that they feel is important to pass on to the new teacher.
Thank you as ever for your continued support.
See you later at the Summer Fair.
Take care and stay safe.
Mrs Wilmer
