Dear Families,
We have had such an exciting and emotional last week at school.
At the beginning of the week we had our Celebration of Learning afternoon. It was lovely to see so many parents with their children, reading through their work.
On Tuesday, we had our team treat. Well done to Wales who achieved the most amount of team points for the term. They had a visit from the animal man. The children met lots of animals including a huge snake, a skunk and a tenrec.
Yesterday, we had our Year 6 Leaver’s Assembly. That was certainly emotional! The Year 6 children have been one of those cohorts of children who have been incredible throughout their time at Friarswood. Their enthusiasm, kindness and fun loving personalities have meant that every teacher who has taught them doesn’t want them to leave. Mrs McConvey and Ms Master have definitely loved having this group of children for two years.
And today we say goodbye to these children. Year 6 - We wish you lots of luck and happiness as you go on your way. We know you’ll be successful at whatever you put your mind to.
I also want to say a huge thank you to the families that are leaving us today. I have known many of you for 8 years or longer. You have been supportive, kind and a pleasure to be around. I have enjoyed our chats, our laughs and being part of your ‘family’ for this time. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of your child’s / children’s education journey. Thank you.
Some exciting news for over the holidays - Miss Goodwin, who has been part of the school for nearly 20 years, is getting married. We are over the moon for her. She will become Mrs Brassington. We wish Mr and Mrs Brassington lots of love and happiness.
And finally a huge thank you to all of the families for the cards and gifts to the staff. It’s always lovely to read such thoughtful comments, it means so much to all of us.
I hope you have a lovely Summer holiday. We look forward to seeing you all back to school on Thursday 3rd September.
Take care and stay safe
Mrs Wilmer and the Friarswood team
