Dear Families,

This week has flown by.  The children have certainly got into the swing of school life again with lots of hard work and determination being shown by so many children.  It’s been so good walking around the school to see the learning happening.

Safeguarding
Due to the new Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026, we have now implemented a ‘No wearable technology’ policy in school.  Glasses, watches that can record and/or take photos along with mobiles cannot be used in school.  If children are wearing any device like this, staff will ask the child to remove it and it will be kept safe until a parent collects it.  Parents are asked not to wear this technology in school due to the safeguarding of our children.  Thank you for your support with this.

Young Voices  (at Birmingham)
For the last few years we have taken our choir to Birmingham to take part in Young Voices.  This is a fantastic opportunity for children to sing together with some famous people.  Last year, there were over 5000 children singing their hearts out.

The children have a fantastic time.  It’s so exciting to be part of something so huge.  We also have many parents who come along in the evening to watch the performance.

This year, we have decided that the whole school will practice the Young Voices songs with a view of taking all of the KS2 children to this concert.  There will be plenty more details about this to come but for now, the date for the Young Voices concert is Thursday 14th January.  For those of you who have done this before you’ll know how exciting this is for the children.  For those of you new to this, your child will be part of something incredible.

Communication with school
It’s great that we have lots of lines of communication open to parents and staff so we can stay in touch with each other.  For reasons of wellbeing, we are asking that parents and staff communicate with each other between 8am and 6pm on weekdays.

Due to staff teaching, having meetings and running after school clubs, they will try their best to respond on the same day but this may not always be possible.  It may be that you request further information, if so, we will respond within 48 hours.

Teaching Assistants do not work the same hours as teachers and so will only respond during their working hours.

If you need to pass on an urgent message during school hours, please contact the school office as the teachers will be teaching and probably won’t see the message (especially if it’s sent in the afternoon).

School Photos
On Wednesday 23rd September we have our photographer in.  The early years children will go first, before they eat!

Arbor permissions
Please can you check your permissions on Arbor as there are still quite a few children with missing information. These can be found under the Notices section on your child's Arbor dashboard.

Healthy snacks
Please can we ask that children come to school with healthy snacks not chocolate or sweets. 

Jewellery
A reminder that the only jewellery that can be worn are watches and a small pair of stud earrings.  No dangly earrings are allowed due to safety reasons.  Children will be asked to remove these if they come to school in them.
