Dear Families,
Now that the weather has started to get colder, please can you make sure your child comes to school with a suitable coat. We have had some children dithering because they haven’t had their coat.
Goodbye!
Today we have said goodbye and good luck to Ms French. Although she has only been at Friarswood for a short amount of time, she certainly made a difference to those children who she worked with. We wish her all the best in her next adventure.
TA recruitment
We are currently advertising for a new TA due to Ms French leaving. We hope to have found someone very soon. I’ll keep you posted.
Children in Need
Friday 13th November is Children in Need. Children can come in their own clothes for the day. The donation is set as a minimum of £1 but you are more than welcome to change this.
Thank you in advance.
Lunchtimes
We have been focusing on lunchtimes and table manners. We have been reminding children to use their knives, forks and spoons correctly, eat with their mouths closed and to try to not leave as much mess where they are sitting. The lunch staff were noticing a lot of food mess on the tables and floor. This has improved a great deal this week, which is great news.
Assembly/ safeguarding
On Monday, our assembly focused on consent. We spoke about what the word means and why it is so important to only do something if you have consent from the other person. This led to a talk about safeguarding and who to talk to if they feel uncomfortable with something that is happening or has happened to them.
Safeguarding is a regular part of our RSHE and we’re glad that our children show a really good understanding of how to be safe.
Christmas photoshoot
On Tuesday 10th November, the photography company Schoolshots will be back to take festive photos. Children are welcome to come to school in a festive outfit or accessories! Before and after school, the photographer will also be available for family group photos. Sibling photos will be taken during the school day.
Christmas Fayre
The PTA are holding a Christmas Fayre on Friday 4th December, 5.30 - 7.30 pm. There will be an Artisan market to pick up those special Christmas gifts. Refreshments will be available to purchase. Lots of fun games and crafts and a special visit from Santa and his elves!
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Take care and stay safe.
