Newsletter – November Week 1

Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome back after half term.  I hope you all had some special time spent with your families.

As many of you know, we have welcomed new children into school.  I can’t thank our children enough for how they have welcomed the children and helped them to settle into life at Friarswood.  I need to give special shout outs to Chloe and Ruben in Year 5, Ellie, Freya and Gracie in Year 6 and Flo in Year 4; they have all gone out of their way to support the new children in finding their way around the school, helping them to follow the routines of the day and Chloe especially has helped me in the mornings to bring the children into school.  Thank you to all of you.

Year 2

A huge well done to Year 2 children (and parents) for their commitment to reading daily.  This positive attitude to reading really does support the children with so many other aspects of school life.  I know Mr Golds and Mrs Bebbington are thrilled with the progress the children are making.

Uniform Exchange

This will be available on Mondays.  Parents can come and help themselves to the uniform we have been given.  This will be in the library, which you will be able to access from the veranda on the KS2 side of the school.

Recycle to Read Scheme

On Monday, we will be launching the scheme which is that any broken plastic toys and old, working tech can be dropped into the boxes in our main reception area.  Once they are full, they will be collected and in exchange we get to choose new reading books for our children.

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

This year we are supporting the Poppy Appeal. We have been given the items you see below to sell at school. If you would like to purchase any of these items please could you put the money in a named envelope with what it is that you would like to purchase and we we will then be able to exchange this for you. Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend and have fun watching the fireworks.

Thank you as ever for your support.

Mrs Wilmer
