Newsletter – November Week 2

Dear Parents / Carers,
This week we have had a lockdown practice. This is when the children and staff make themselves safe under a table and lock the class door incase of any intruders in school. We practise this each term along with fire alarms. Once a year we practise an evacuation drill. Our safe location should there be an evacuation is The Coppice. The Coppice use Friarswood for their safe location.

School Nurse
School nurses work with children, young people and their families to help to improve their physical and/or emotional health an wellbeing. They can help with a range of health concerns and can offer advice on parenting and behaviour strategies.
Every Thursday between 3;30pm and 4:30pm (during holidays too) they offer a drop in for parents, carers and young people. The link to use this support is mpft.live/schoolnurse
The Big Winter Wrap-Up
For the next 2 weeks, we thought it would be a great idea if any coats, hats, scarves, gloves, wellies, boots that were no longer needed anymore were brought into school so that people who need these items for whatever reason, can come in and take what is needed. Any items that are left after this donation period, we’ll take to the local homeless charity.
