Newsletter – April Week 1

Dear Parents / Carers,
What a lovely final day we’ve had today. The sun has been out for the Easter Egg hunt. The children have had so much fun trying to find the eggs and match the eggs together.
The decorated eggs and Easter bonnets have been spectacular this year. I’m so glad that I don’t have to judge them by myself. We really have been amazed by the imagination and creativity shown.
Well done to the following children who will be coming home with an Easter gift.
Nursery: Teddy and Stanley
Reception: Joel and Sienna
Year 1: Emily and Amber
Year 2: Connie and Freddie
Year 3: Nora and Jack
Year 4: Eliza and Albert
Year 5: Thomas and Thomas
Year 6: Harry and Freya
Thank you to everyone who came along to the outdoor Easter Celebration. It was lovely to see you all. I hope you all enjoyed looking at the bonnets and decorated eggs.
Goodbye to Miss Razzaq
It’s been a bit of a sad day today as Miss Razzaq is leaving us. We wish her well for her next adventure and thank her so much for all of her support and effort with the early years children. She really is a wonderful teacher who we will all miss.
End of term progress reports
Today you’ll be receiving your child’s progress report. Having looked at the assessment information for this term, I’m so pleased with the progress the children have made. Considering how much learning has been missed due to Covid, the children have worked so hard in all areas of the curriculum to achieve such amazing results.
Parking on Abbots Way
You will soon notice some new ‘parking buddies’ on the pavement near to school. These new ‘parking buddies’ have a QR code on. If you see any vehicle that is parked dangerously / illegally or inconsiderately (i.e. infront of our neighbours drives) you’ll be able to take a picture of the vehicle and download it to the QR code link. The police will be monitoring this and will be issuing penalty notices.
Hopefully by working together, we can help to keep the area by our school safe for everyone.
Children off school
Please can I remind parents that if you choose to keep your child off school or take them on holiday, we will not be forwarding home learning as this is your choice.
We will only issue home learning if your child is off for medical reasons and if it has been agreed by myself and the class teacher.
Year 4 science / DT work
Yesterday and today, Year 4 parents will have seen the amazing buzzer games which the Year 4 children have made. They have designed and made the games themselves. They’re so proud of their creations as both Mrs Hartley and myself are. Well done children, you’ve certainly learned so much in your lessons and produced a fabulous game at the end.
Year 5 DT work
Year 5 are busy designing and creating vacuum cleaners. Yes – you read that correctly! I can’t wait to see how well they work. Again, the children have designed and started creating these in their teams. They have worked so well together and supported each other’s learning and investigating how to create the suction element. The cleaners will be pleased when they are finished!
Take a look at the new menu
After the Easter break we will be starting a new menu, Week 2.
Please can I take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely Easter break. I hope the sun shines for everyone. Thank you as always for your continued support.
Take care and stay safe.
