Newsletter – March Week 1

Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s been a very excitable couple of days at Friarswood with our World Book Day activities. The children have looked amazing in their outfits and have taken part in lots of fun activities. Lucky Year 3 who got to have a jam tart as their theme was Alice in Wonderland.
Maths in school
Yesterday, we had National Leaders of maths in school. They visited every class to observe the teaching and challenge in maths activities. They were full of praise for the children and their learning. They could see the amount of progress which the children have made, they were impressed with the levels of challenge in the classes and they were delighted with the amount of mathematical vocabulary which the children were using so confidently. Well done to all of the children and staff for working so hard in this area.
Fairtrade Bake Off
Just a reminder that all photos need to be sent in to Mrs Bebbington by Monday 7th March. Although the fairtrade ingredients have all been given out, children still have this weekend to take part in this bake off challenge. I can’t wait to see the photos.
Thursday parking on Abbots Way
Please can I remind people that unfortunately the swimming coach comes back at the same time as many parents park on Abbots Way. Please can you ensure that you park so that the coach can get along the road. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Take care and stay safe.
