Newsletter – March Week 5

Dear Parents / Carers,
We’ve definitely had a busy last week of the term rounded off by a lovely last day of Easter egg hunts and admiring the amazing egg creations. An incredibly tough decision but winners were eventually found.
Celebration of Learning afternoon
It was lovely to see so many parents and grandparents join us for the afternoon. The children loved having help with their activities and showing off their work. Thank you for the many amazing comments. I’m glad that you’re as proud of your children and their work as we are.
Chocolate Bingo
Another successful event held by the PTA. A whopping £1005 was raised. Thank you to everyone who supported this event. All of the money which the PTA raises goes towards lots of extras for the children which the school budget cannot afford.
Here’s a message from the PTA to update you on how they will be spending the money raised …
You may ask “What is that money spent on?”
The PTA are shortly going to be spending approximately £2,000 on new playground equipment for all year groups, which the children will be able to use and enjoy during playtimes. Storage facilities for the equipment will also be provided. We hope to have the equipment ready for the children on their return from the Easter holiday.
A donation of £520 has also been made to the school for King’s Coronation keepsake crafts. Each child will have the opportunity to make something wonderful to mark this special occasion.
The PTA are currently in talks with the school regarding the replacement of the library carpet, which has seen better days. This will allow the children to be able to sit on the library floor, on a nice clean carpet whilst listening to stories being told or whilst reading on their own.
I hope you agree that the money raised is going to good use and that all the children will benefit from it. We couldn’t do it without the generosity of our school families, and the PTA would like to say a huge thank you to you all.
Community support
Our Year 1 children took part in a community litter pick yesterday. They were a bit shocked at just how much litter they found.
Thank you to everyone who joined in this community event.
PE this week
Every class has taken part in a competition during their PE this week. The children had to use all of the skills which they’ve been taught throughout the half term when taking part in the games. We definitely have some very competitive children along with some super team players too. Well done to all of the children for taking part with such enthusiasm and team spirit.
I hope you all have a lovely Easter break and I really do hope the sun comes out as I’ve had enough of the rain and I know many of you have said the same to me.
New Lunch Menu starting after Easter
Thank you as ever for your support. It means so much to everyone.
Take care and stay safe.
