Our KS2 Quad gets a new lease of life!

We’re so excited to share the transformation of our KS2 Quad area.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Co-op Academies Trust’s community team and 25 amazing volunteers from Wincanton, DHL, GXO, Co-op Procurement and Co-op store managers, our outdoor learning space has had a full makeover.

From 8am to 5pm, volunteers worked tirelessly to revamp our outdoor space. They added new wicker fencing, weeded our planting areas, tidied the lawn and spruced-up the stairs, adding solar powered lights and decoration.

We’re very excited about the new pond area which will allow our pupil’s to learn about different species and local wildlife. And we can’t wait to get planting in our brand new greenhouse.

Thanks to some very generous donations, we’ve even given our bins a smiley makeover and have been able to purchase a fun storage bench filled with new games and resources including a giant Jenga, dominoes, picnic mats and litter-picking kits!

Our Eco Warriors, led by Mr Linley Simon and Mrs Bebbington, played a key role in shaping the ideas for the space, and we’re so proud to see their vision come to life.

We’d like to give a massive thank you to Matt, who has gone above and beyond collecting, coordinating and working so hard to make this project a reality – even over the bank holiday!

Mrs Garrity, our Head of Community, summed it up perfectly, she said: “As a team, we’re committed to developing learning and community spaces across our academies. We’re so proud of what’s been achieved here at Friarswood."
