Newsletter October – Week 1

Dear Parents / Carers,

I’ve received some information from childnet about Twitch, a new streaming app where young people create and watch live videos of people.  Apparently it’s becoming more popular.  Here’s an article which you may find useful from childnet

Childnet is an online organisation helping to keep children and young people safe on the internet.  There’s lots of advice on this site should you have any concerns linked to this area.

Rewards & Recognition event

Some of you may have seen on Twitter or Facebook that Mrs Bebbington won an award for ‘Do what matters most’ and her amazing role as the Co-op Community Lead in our school.  Mrs Bebbington always does a fantastic job ensuring that our children take part in lots of community events.  Even when we were in lockdown, she made sure we took part in events to support local charities in need.

Year 6 high school visit

On Wednesday, Year 6 visited Newcastle Academy for a science afternoon.

A note from Mrs Sharman …

Year 6 were invited to take part in a very special science investigation at Newcastle Academy this week.

The children had to investigate a crime scene! They had to use bunsen burners and chemicals to flame test colours, they also used a microscope to identify objects, samples and fingerprints! They had an amazing time!

School Photos

We have booked the photos for Monday 11th October.  These will be for school children only.  If your child usually comes in their PE kit on a Monday, they can come in their school uniform and then get changed later in the day ready for their PE lesson.

Harvest Celebrations

Usually, we enjoy inviting parents into school to take part in our harvest celebrations.  As levels of Covid are still high in the area, we will be holding a harvest festival but for the children only in classrooms.  We would however, still like to support our local Alice charity, as we know how much our donations have meant to families who are in need.
Our celebration is Monday 11th October.  The donations that have been recommended are toiletries, sanitary products, baby products and tinned products. Please can you send in your kind donations on this date to help to fill up the pantry.

Thank you in advance for your support with this charity.

Small and Tall Bookings

Just a reminder that Small and Tall are still taking bookings for October half term. Please email fria.smallandtall@coopacademies.co.uk with the sessions you require before October 11th.

Have a lovely weekend.  I hope the weather is a bit better for us all.

Take care and thank you for your support.

Mrs Wilmer
