Dear Parents/Carers,

This week we have announced the Year 6 prefects, play leaders and house captains.  Team points will now be starting again with each team trying their best to win the end of term treat!  Year 5 librarians have been chosen.

I’m sure all of these children will do a fantastic job supporting the children and the staff as well as looking after their environment.

We are in the process of registering our school with Morrisons ‘Good to Grow’ scheme.  You can register your interest on the app.  It links tokens (for every £10 spent) to our school.  These tokens can then be exchanged for gardening tools and equipment.  We’re just waiting for confirmation that Friarswood is part of the scheme.  For those of you who wish to support this, the name that you will need to enter is Co-op Academy Friarswood.  We seem to get a variety of versions of our name which is why I’m putting it on the newsletter.

As soon as Morrisons have sent confirmation, the tokens will be allocated to the school automatically once you have registered.  In the meantime, please register your interest online or via the app.

Safeguarding

At Friarswood, we take safeguarding very seriously.  At times, I will put links on the newsletters to support online safety or other safeguarding issues.  As many of you have older children, I will sometimes send out information suitable for these children as well.

If ever you have any concerns regarding safeguarding or the welfare of a child, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mrs Hartley.  I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Mrs Hartley is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead as well as the Assistant Headteacher.

If you ever think a child is in direct danger, please contact the police on 999.

School dates

The staff are looking at dates for various activities which we will hopefully be able to take part in throughout the year.  As soon as we have finalised these, they will be sent to you.
