Newsletter – May Week Two

Dear Parents / Carers,

Year 6 have been superstars this week.  They’ve tried their best and have had smiles on their faces.  Well done Year 6.  We’re so proud of you.

Walk to school week

Next week is national walk to school week.  It’s the time for everyone to try to walk rather than go by car.  Not only does this benefit the environment but it also benefits you and your health.  So, if you can leave home a bit earlier and walk – give it a go and enjoy how much better you feel for taking part.

Year 3 Dodgeball

Yesterday, I took a group of Year 3 children to Co-op Academy Stoke to take part in dodgeball with Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff.  Both groups of children had a fantastic time and really did try their best to beat each other.  Our children learnt how to work together as a team and how to support each other even if they are losing.  Well done to all of the children who took part.

Over the next couple of months, some of the Year 3 children will be taking part in a range of sporting events at Co-op Academy Stoke.

European Language Day

Today, our children have had such a fun day learning about a specific country.  They’ve learnt about important places and people, the country’s flag and some very lucky children have been taste testing, which I was forced to take part in!  There’s been a lot of music and fun activities along with plenty of laughter whilst learning.

Sports Events next week

Please bring chairs / picnic blankets so you have something to sit on. (and maybe a brolly!)

As the weather is so changeable, we won’t know whether we’re cancelling the events until the day.  We’re hoping that with sunshine and a breeze, everything will go ahead as planned.  Keep everything crossed people!

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care and stay safe.

Mrs Wilmer
