Newsletter – March Week 2

Dear Parents / Carers,
I have to start this newsletter with a very special mention to some of our staff.
Some of the staff were nominated for Co-op Recognition Awards for their roles in school and the amazing work they do with the children. A huge well done to Mrs Dean, Mrs Bebbington, Mrs Rafferty and Mrs Hughes.
On Friday night, we went to the awards evening in Manchester along with all of the other Co-op Academies. There were lots of staff nominated in total but one of our amazing staff won the Co-op Community award. A HUGE well done to Mrs Bebbington. This is the second year that Mrs Bebington’s hard work and dedication to supporting the children and the community has been awarded. I can’t thank Mrs Bebbington enough for her outstanding role at Friarswood. There are pictures of the night on Twitter and Facebook.
Year 5 swimming
It was so lovely to see the amazing swimming efforts of our Year 5 children. They have made incredible progress this year. I want to say a massive well done to Thomas, Gracie, Amelia, Manuela, Sena, Zainab and Oliver. Their confidence has come on in leaps and bounds and their efforts at swimming lengths made me so proud.
Small & Tall
Due to staff training, Small & Tall will be closed after school on Wednesday 3rd May. The training starts at 3:30pm for all staff so gates will be closed at 3:30.
Dont forget to book your Easter place in Small and Tall
Safeguarding
Just as a reminder that should you have any safeguarding concerns, there is a feature on the website called ‘Report a Concern’ (top right of the main screen). This message will automatically get sent to myself and Mrs Hartley. You can still always contact us directly rather than use this function.
If there is an issue out of school hours please dial the following number:
Staffordshire Children’s Advice and Support Service (First Response) 0300 111 8007
In an emergency please call the police on 999.
Hopefully next week the weather will get better and we’ll start to see more Spring sunshine.
Have a lovely weekend.
Thank you as ever for your continued support.
Mrs Wilmer
Absences
Please report any absences on the first day of the absence to Mrs Dean on 01782 470401 (please leave a message if I am not in the office) or email angela.dean@coopacademies.co.uk .
If your child has sickness/diarrhoea they do require 48hours symptom free before they come back to school.
