Newsletter – December Week 1

Dear Parents / Carers,

Once again, another great big thank you for the donations of chocolate ready for the PTA chocolate bingo.

Celebration of Learning

It was wonderful to see so many families joining us for our afternoon on Wednesday.  The children loved having you join them for their learning.  Some of you even got to see your child take part in their piano lesson.

Thank you so much for the many lovely comments.  We’ll hold another Celebration of Learning at the end of next term.

Catering Team

Several weeks ago we had to go to tender with our catering contract.  Our new catering team is Midshires.  They will be sending out information about their menus and allergy/dietary requirements information sheets very soon.

Meal Price Increase

Unfortunately, from January, the price of school meals will increase to £2.35.  This is due to the significant cost increases with food and fuel which all of the catering contractors (who went to tender) would have had to do.  Midshires had the best deal regarding prices as well as high standards in food quality.

Grandparent’s Christmas Lunch

It’s been so lovely to have our Grandparents back in school to join in some of the Christmas fun.  Thank you for the lovely comments.  I’ve passed them onto Sarah the cook and her team.

A massive thank you to the PTA who have helped to make the event go so smoothly.

I look forward to seeing more Grandparents on Tuesday.

Online Safety Advice

For Parents – Setting Up Devices

With Xmas fast approaching some children will be getting new or upgraded devices, older devices may be handed to younger children. This is an ideal time to get information out to parents about the importance of setting up devices with parental controls in relation to the age of the child. Internet Matters covers all devices with very simple, easy-to-understand parental guides which you can find HERE.

There are also some good console buying advice and tips HERE.

For Parents – Playstation Safety.

Sony Playstation and Internet Matters have got together and created a wonderful interactive quiz for children and parents to learn together how to make the most of Playstation settings for safer gaming. This is a great idea to get conversations going and for parents to learn more about the games which their children play.

You can access the interactive quiz HERE.

Thank you as ever for your support.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care and stay safe.
